Aceites Abril, S.L. is a family firm that was created in 1962 by Manuel Pérez Delgado, in San Cibrao das Viñas (Ourense, Spain), dedicated to selling a wide variety of vegetable oils adapted to our customers’ needs: virgin and extra virgin olive oil, ecological oils, single-variety oils, olive-pomace oil, sunflower oil, seed oils and special oils for frying, in bottled or bulk formats.

Oil type:
Extra virgin olive oil made with oils from the Arbequina, Picual and Hojiblanca varieties, with the focus on always obtaining the same standards in terms of flavour and aroma.

 

Tasting notes:
 A well-balanced oil with a dense, fluid texture that leaves a pleasant sensation. The three varieties complement one another to provide a delicious, authentic final flavour.

 

Formats:
5 L, 3 L and 1 L PET bottle, box of 10 ml sachets.

 

Recommendations for use:
Ideal for using straight from the bottle, for frying, stews and making hearty sauces.

Oil type:
Oil from Arbequina, Hojiblanca and Picual olives, obtained by using only mechanical procedures under special temperature conditions to prevent any alteration to the oil. This is a natural product that preserves all the flavour, aroma and vitamins of the olive.

 

Tasting notes:
A well-balanced oil with a delicate flavour, gentler than extra virgin olive oil.

 

Formats:
5 L / 1L PET container.

 

Recommendations for use:
Either directly from the bottle, for frying, stews or grilling, this oil simply enriches any kind of dish.

PURE

Oil type:
Also known as 1º oil, it contains 70 % extra virgin olive oil and 30 % refined olive oil. Combines all of the heart-healthy properties of extra virgin olive oil at a reasonable price.

 

Tasting notes:
A well-balanced oil, with hints of extra virgin olive oil, but less pronounced.

 

Formats:
5 L / 1L PET container.

 

Recommendations for use:
Ideal for hot or cold dishes, with a milder olive aroma than extra virgin olive oil.

Oil type:
Also known as 0.4º, it contains 30 % extra virgin olive oil and 70 % refined olive oil. Combines all the heart-healthy properties of extra virgin olive oil at a reasonable price.

 

Tasting notes:
An oil with a light, delicate flavour and a hint of olive.

 


Formats:
5 L / 1L PET container.

 

Recommendations for use:
Perfect for when you want the flavours of other ingredients to stand out without too much of an accent on the flavour of the olive oil, as well as for frying and stews.

Oil type:
Extra virgin olive oil produced with a special emphasis on respecting the environment, free from all chemical products during cultivation. The resulting ecological oil is a safe, natural and healthy product that is more flavoursome than conventional olive oils.

 

Tasting notes:
A well-balanced oil with a fresh, fruity aroma and mild flavour.

 

Formats:
Rigid 1 L PET container and 250 ml, 500 ml, 750 ml and 1 L glass bottle. Labelled in Galician or Castilian Spanish on request.

 

Recommendations for use: Ideal for using straight out of the bottle, on vegetables or to bring out the full flavours of ingredients such as smoked foods.  

 

MONOVARIETY PICUAL

MONOVARIETY PICUAL

Oil type:
Extra virgin olive oil made from Picual variety olives. Due to its acidic composition and natural antioxidant content, Picual extra virgin olive oil is highly resistant to rancidity for more than 120 hours, and has a medium-high vitamin E content.

 

Tasting notes:
An oil with bold character, featuring highly fruity notes that make it easily identifiable. Fragrant with pleasantly bitter, spicy and astringent hints that gradually mellow, featuring specific aromas of freshly-chopped wood.  

 

Formats:
Rigid 1 L PET container and 500 ml glass bottle.

 

Recommendations for use:
Ideal for quickly stir-frying products such as asparagus or spring garlic, frying and stews, Galician-style octopus and much, much more.

MONOVARIETY HOJIBLANCA

EXTRA VIRGIN OLIVE OIL

MONOVARIETY HOJIBLANCA

Oil type:
Extra virgin olive oil made using Hojiblanca variety olives. Low fat content, high vitamin E content and a medium resistance to rancidity of 51.8 hours.

 

Tasting notes:
Fruity, with slight hints of apple. Grassy green in colour, slightly bitter, although sometimes spicy and sweet. A very gentle oil on the palate, with an almond flavour.

 

Formats:
Rigid 1 L PET container and 500 ml glass bottle

 


Recommendations for use:
Ideal for fried or oven-baked white fish dishes, grilled meat and sauces.

MONOVARIETY ARBEQUINA

Maximum acidity: 0.3

 

Oil type:
Extra virgin olive oil made using Arbequina olives. This oil has a medium vitamin E content, and has a medium-low resistance to rancidity of 41.6 hours.

 

Tasting notes:
A very characteristic oil thanks to its fluidity and magnificent aroma. A very fruity oil with hints of green grass, hardly any bitterness or spice and with a sweet flavour. Mild and free-flowing on the palate, with specific tones of green almond and freshly mown grass.

 

Formats:
Rigid 1 L PET container and 500 ml glass bottle

 

Recommendations for use:
Simple salads, vegetables on their own, boiled fish and baked products, amongst others.

A blend of Arbequina, Hojiblanca and Picual varieties in different proportions.

 

Tasting notes:
A complex oil that combines the fragrant aroma of Arbequina, the freshness of Hojiblanca and the slight bitterness of Picual to create a robust, fruity oil with a markedly sweet flavour.

 


Formats:
1 L tough opaque PET container, 750, 500 or 250 ml opaque glass container, (pursuant to the Royal Decree prohibiting refillable oil bottles in the hotel and catering sector), and 5 L, 3 L and 1 L canned format.

Oil type:
Condiment based on premium extra virgin olive oil and a food additive developed by the Food and Pharmacy Technological Innovation Centre (CITAF) in Barcelona.

 

Tasting notes:
Fruity with an intense aroma of fresh grass, and a sweet flavour with a hint of apple.

 

Formats:
200 ml glass bottle.

 

Recommendations for use: Ideal for using straight from the bottle on simple salads and other dishes when we wish to add extra flavour.

GOTAS DE ABRIL

Oil type:
A blend of premium extra virgin olive oil using the Arbequina, Hojiblanca and Frantoio varieties.

 

Tasting notes:
An oil with complex aromas and flavours; very fruity and highly fragrant. Characteristically sweet notes of green grass with a bitter, spicy aftertaste.

 

Formats:
500 ml glass bottle similar to olive skin.

 

Recommendations for use:
Ideal for using straight from the bottle on simple salads and other dishes when we wish to add extra flavour.

Oil type:
Oil obtained from sunflower seeds, with a high linoleic acid and vitamin E content, giving it cardio-protective qualities.

 

Formats:
25 L, 5 L, 3 L and 1 L PET container.

 

Recommendations for use: Should not be used more than two or three times for frying. Ideal for sauces, baked products and to enhance the flavour of dishes.  

 

ABRILSEM

SEEDS OIL

ABRILSEM

Oil type:
A mixture of refined soya and sunflower oil. More balanced than olive oil, it has a high content of Omega 3 and Omega 6 polyunsaturated acids.

 

Formats:
25 L, 5 L and 1 L PET container.

 

Recommendations for use:
Normally used for preparing sauces for salads or fried foods. An oil with a high calorie content, which means it should be used responsibly.

ABRILFRIT

SEEDS OIL

ABRILFRIT

Oil type:
A product made using corn oil and sunflower oil with a high percentage of oleic acid, with similar properties to olive oil. Rich in vitamin E.

 

Formats:
5 L / 1L PET container, 20 L and 10 L cans.

 

Recommendations for use: Due to its resistance to the high temperatures produced when frying, this oil is especially suitable for frying. It oxidises more slowly than sunflower oil, and does not smoke or mix flavours. It can also be used to make margarines and prepare vinaigrette dressings.

SABORPALM

SPECIAL DEEP-FAT FRYERS

Oil type:
Refined bifractionated palm oil.

 

Formats:
20 L and 10 L cans, and 25 L drum

 

Recommendations for use:
Mainly used for frying and industrial baking due to its resistance to high temperatures. Moderate consumption is recommended due to its calorie content.

SPECIAL DEEP-FAT FRYERS

Oil type:
A mixture of refined sunflower and palm kernel oils, with a low level of polyunsaturated fats.

 

Formats:
20 L and 10 L cans, and 25 L and 10 L drums

 

Recommendations for use:
An oil for deep-fat fryers. Bifractionated palm oil makes it more stable, and ideal for continuous frying. Does not foam and does not mix flavours.

SABORFRIT

SPECIAL DEEP-FAT FRYERS

SABORFRIT

Oil type:
Made from a careful selection of refined high oleic sunflower oil, refined sunflower oil, fractionated palm oil and anti-foaming agent. Contains Vitamin E, Vitamin A and has a low level of polyunsaturated fats, meaning that repeated use does not lead to the formation of free radicals that are harmful to health as a result of the oil breaking down.

 

Formats:
20 L and 10 L cans, and 25 L and 10 L drums.

 

Recommendations for use:
Ideal for frying, as it contains a high level of monounsaturated fats that make it very stable at high temperatures. Does not splash, and prevents residue from forming. Does not foam or mix flavours. Can be re-used a larger number of times.

 

HIGH OLEIC SUNFLOWER OIL

HIGH OLEIC SUNFLOWER OIL

Oil type:
Oil obtained from sunflower seeds with a high oleic acid content. It soaks less fat into foods, therefore reducing the number of calories.  Its high vitamin E content gives it cardio-protective qualities, and prevents the premature aging of cells.

 

Formats:
25 L and 5 L PET container.

 

Recommendations for use:
An ideal oil for frying. Resists high temperatures more effectively than sunflower oil. Can be re-used more often as it oxidises more slowly, and does not foam or mix flavours. Highly recommended for deep fat fryers operating on a continuous basis. Gives unbeatable results, for crispy fried food with an attractive golden colour.

Extra Virgin olive oil, Ecological Extra Virgin olive oil, Extra Virgin olive oil from the Arbequina, Hojiblanca and Picual varieties, Olive Pomace Oil, Sunflower Oil, Seed Oils and special oil for frying.

NEW REFINERY

On 27th March 2015 we opened our new refining plant, with a capacity for processing 400 Tn of sunflower and olive oil per day. This was part of the expansion process Abril has been carrying out over the last few months, covering 20,000 square metres and consisting of the refinery itself, the storage warehouse and the loading and unloading area.

The refinery represents a major step forward for our company in qualitative terms, as until now we had only packaged and sold oils that were already refined, only carrying out a final filtering process for our Extra Virgin olive oil at our facilities.
